The Stockton field hockey team opened the 2005 season with a 5-2 victory over Arcadia. The Ospreys broke open a 1-1 game with three goals in a 10-minute span of the second half. Aimee Rendine (West Milford/West Milford) led Stockton with two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Caitlin Nolan (Riverside/ Holy Cross) made six saves for the Ospreys.

Courtney Clemens (Bordentown/Bordentown) deked the goalie and scored to give Stockton a 1-0 lead just 3:27 into the game, but Arcadia knotted the contest at 1-1 with 4:40 left in the first half. In the second stanza, Rendine gave Stockton a 2-1 lead with 29:02 on the clock and then assisted on a tally by Sarah Stafford (Pennsville/Pennsville) 3:28 later. Jen Jones (Hammonton/ St. Joseph) capped the three-goals-in-10-minutes outburst with an unassisted goal at the 19:13 mark. After Arcadia trimmed Stockton’s lead to 4-2, Rendine sealed the victory with her second goal of the game and the Ospreys went on to the 5-2 triumph.
