Richard Stockton (2-1) outscored Wheaton (MA) (1-2) by 36 points in the second half for a 76-53 victory in the consolation game of the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament at Johns Hopkins. Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) posted a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds to earn All-Tournament honors. Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) scored 13 points, all in the second half, while Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) went 8-8 at the line and finished with 12 points.

After Stockton led for the first four minutes, Wheaton took control with a 14-4 run and eventually opened up an 11-point lead. Although White sparked the Ospreys with 10 first-half points, Stockton faced a 38-27 deficit at intermission. The Ospreys went just 8-29 from the field (27.6%) but managed to stay within striking distance by going 10-12 (83.3%) at the free throw line.

Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) netted six points as Stockton began the second half with a 13-0 run and took the lead for good. Overall, Stockton outscored Wheaton 49-15 in the half as Wheaton shot just 16.1 percent (5-31), including 0-12 from three-point range. Fagan and Thompson led the offensive charge for the Ospreys with 14 and 13 points respectively in the period as Stockton pulled away and won 76-53. The Ospreys shot an impressive 25-31 (80.6%) from the stripe in the game.
