#5 Stockton 72, Widener 53

Fifth-ranked Richard Stockton (4-1) topped Widener (3-1) 72-53 for its fourth consecutive win. Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/ Middle Twp.) led the Ospreys with a game-high 18 points while Omar Smith (Newark/Central) tossed in 12 points. DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden Co. Tech) posted a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) also netted 10 points for the Ospreys, who shot 21-27 (77.8%) at the charity stripe.

Stockton led 27-26 at the end of a close but low-scoring first half that saw the teams shoot only 19-65 (29.2%) combined. A basket by Brown put the Ospreys up 27-22 with 2:08 on the clock, but they did not score again and led by one at the break. Farrow and Smith led Stockton with six points apiece and the team went 9-12 (75%) at the line to offset 28.6-percent field goal shooting.

The Ospreys then took control of the game and dominated the second half. After a Widener free throw opened the scoring, Stockton went on a 14-2 run highlighted by six points from Smith for a 41-29 lead. Later, a three-point play by Farrow was the key blow during a 9-0 spurt that put the Ospreys ahead 59-38 midway through the half. Overall, Stockton outscored Widener 45-27 after the break and won its fourth straight game, 72-53.
