In its home opener, Richard Stockton (3-1) downed Albright (2-2) 69-53 behind 16 points from freshman Che`Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) and 14 points and 10 rebounds from LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook). Thompson also grabbed nine rebounds for the Ospreys while fellow freshman Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) chipped in with 12 points off the bench.

Stockton opened up a 10-point lead late in the first half that was cut to two while the Ospreys went scoreless for four minutes. Price-Perry sparked a 6-1 run in the final 21 seconds with consecutive layups and Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) capped the spurt a jumper at the buzzer to put the Ospreys ahead 39-32. Price-Perry led Stockton with 10 first-half points.

Stockton’s defense was the key in the second half as the Ospreys held Albright to just two points and registered five of their 17 steals during a 10-minute span. Oliver and Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) scored six points apiece as the Ospreys used a 21-2 onslaught to build a 64-42 lead with 8:10 remaining. Stockton stayed ahead by at least 15 points for the rest of the game and won 69-53.
