Richard Stockton (4-1) squandered a 14-point second-half lead but scored the final six points of the game to defeat Washington College (MD) (0-4) 64-60 for its third straight win. Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) led the Ospreys with 17 points while LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) added nine points and nine rebounds. Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./ EHT) and Shannon Lane (Ocean City/Ocean City) chipped in with nine and eight points respectively off the bench.

Stockton scored the first six points of the game and never trailed during the first 37 minutes. After Washington tied the score at 12, Thompson tossed in six consecutive points as part of an 8-0 run to put the Ospreys ahead 20-12. Lane later drained a three-pointer to give Stockton its biggest lead of the half at 30-18 and the Ospreys settled for a 37-29 edge at the break.

Stockton took its largest lead of the game at 45-31 on a jumper by Thompson with 17:26 remaining. Washington chipped away at the lead and pulled ahead 60-58 with 1:34 to play. Lane then hit a clutch three-pointer on Stockton’s next possession to put the Ospreys back on top 61-60, and Stockton sealed the 64-60 win with one free throw by Oliver and two charity tosses by Thompson in the final 36 seconds.
