CHE’NA THOMPSON NAMED NJAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK |
 Richard Stockton freshman Che’Na Thompson (Salem/ Salem) was named the NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. Thompson averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals as Stockton won both of its games last week to build a three-game winning streak and improve its record to 4-1 on the season. The 5-8 guard/forward started both games and led the Ospreys in scoring in each contest.
Thompson tallied a game-high 16 points, a career-high nine rebounds and five steals in a 69-53 win over Albright on November 24. She followed with a career-high 17 points plus four rebounds to lead Stockton to its third consecutive win, 64-60 victory over Washington College (MD) on Saturday. Through five college games, Thompson leads the Ospreys in steals (2.8 spg) and ranks second on the team in scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounds (6.2 rpg). |
