#13 Stockton 72, Albright 62

13th-ranked Richard Stockton (6-2) handed Albright (6-1) its first loss of the season 72-62 in the first round of the Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic at King’s College. Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) led the Ospreys with game highs of 21 points and six assists. Omar Smith (Newark/Central) tallied a double-double of 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) added 10 points, all in the second half.

Neither team led by more than five points in a tight first half that featured four ties. Stockton never led in the final 8:55 and trailed 36-33 at the break despite 15 points by Lancioni as he topped all players and carried the Stockton offense. Smith also chipped in with eight points and six rebounds in the half.

Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) scored six points during a 13-1 second-half run that turned a three-point deficit into a 53-44 lead with 12:26 on the clock. The Stockton lead reached double digits at 66-55 after a basket by Lancioni with 4:11 remaining and the Ospreys stayed ahead by at least six points the rest of the way for the 72-62 victory.
