Susquehanna 69, #13 Stockton 66

13th-ranked Richard Stockton (6-3) dropped its second game in the last three, falling to Susquehanna (5-3) 69-66 in the championship of the Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic at King's. Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) led the Ospreys with a team-high 18 points followed by Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) with 15 points and Omar Smith (Newark/Central) with 14 points. Stockton went just 4-19 (21%) from beyond the arc including 0-12 in the second half.

Farrow scored seven early points as Stockton broke out to a 9-5 lead, but Susquehanna answered with a 12-2 run and the Ospreys never led the game again. Smith tied the score at 40 late in the period, but the Crusaders netted the final basket and went ahead 42-40 at the break. Stockton shot 65.4 percent yet trailed as Susquehanna connected at 57.1 percent and went 7-14 from three-point range.

After falling behind by 11 points midway through the second half, Stockton rallied and pulled within 68-66 on a rare four-point possession. With 1:02 remaining, Smith sank a layup and Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) hit two free throws after he was fouled as the basket was scored. After producing a defensive stop, the Ospreys missed a go-ahead three-pointer with 20 seconds to play and fell 69-66. Farrow and Massaquoi were named to the All-Tournament Team after the game.
