SANTINI LANCIONI NAMED NJAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK |
Richard Stockton senior Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) was named the NJAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Ospreys to a pair of victories at the Moravian Greyhound Starters Classic over the weekend. Lancioni averaged 23.5 points and 5.5 assists on his way to tournament MVP honors. The point guard unleashed a torrid shooting display, going 16-25 (64%) from the floor including 10-13 (76.9%) from three-point range in the two games.
Lancioni was Stockton’s top scorer in each game, starting with 21 points plus five assists in a 77-68 win over Bridgewater State (MA). The 2009 First Team All-American went 5-6 from beyond the arc and 8-11 from the floor in the victory. The next day, Lancioni shot 5-7 from three-point range, scored a career-high 26 points and dished six assists as the Ospreys edged Moravian 72-71 for the tournament crown. Lancioni, the reigning NJAC Player of the Year and ECAC Metro Player of the Year, reached the 20-point mark for the fourth and fifth times in 11 games this season. Stockton improved to 8-3 with wins in its first two games since December 12. Lancioni currently leads the league in assists (4.36 apg) and also ranks second in three-pointers (2.55/game), third in three-point shooting percentage (.431) and tied for third in scoring (16.0 ppg). |
