Richard Stockton (8-9, 3-4) got a much-needed win over Ramapo (7-11, 1-6) 74-57 behind a career-high 23 points from Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) and a career-high-tying 20 points from Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph). LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) also tossed in 10 points. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Ospreys. Stockton’s defense forced 25 turnovers in the game and held Ramapo to just 25 points in the second stanza.

Stockton opened up an early 15-8 lead as Thompson scored five points during an 8-0 run. Ramapo answered with a 9-0 spurt of its own and the Ospreys did not lead again until the second half. Following a Stockton turnover, Ramapo hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for a 32-26 edge at the break. Thompson carried the offense with 11 points while no other Ospreys netted more than five in the period.

Nelson sparked the Ospreys with 18-second half points to lead the Stockton rally. Nelson hit two free throws with 5:05 remaining that snapped the ninth tie of the game and gave Stockton a 55-53 lead that it would not relinquish. Thompson later sealed the win by hitting six straight foul shots at the end. The Ospreys outscored Ramapo 48-25 in the second half and went 30-36 (83.3%) at the line in the game to post the 74-57 triumph.
