Richard Stockton (9-9, 4-4) evened its overall and NJAC records with a 71-64 victory over College of New Jersey (11-9, 4-4). LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) led the Ospreys with a game-high 18 points, shooting 7-10 from the floor and 4-5 at the stripe. Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) contributed 16 points, six steals and four assists while Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph) finished with 11 points and four steals in Stockton’s second consecutive win.

After falling behind 12-2, the Ospreys roared back to a 12-12 tie with a 10-0 run during which Nelson hit two three-pointers. Stockton took control of the game with an 11-0 spurt later in the first half. Oliver sparked the outburst with a three-point play and finished it with a layup for a 35-21 lead en route to a 38-25 advantage at intermission. Thompson led the Ospreys with 12 first-half points and Oliver tallied 11.

The Stockton lead ballooned to 20 points at 46-26 following an 8-0 run that Oliver book-ended with a pair of layups. TCNJ gradually fought back throughout the second half and trimmed the Ospreys’ large cushion down to just four points, 63-59, with 1:27 to play. Thompson ended a Stockton scoring drought of 2:54 with a pair of free throws at the 1:03 mark, beginning a run of perfect 8-8 free throw shooting by the Ospreys that sealed the 71-64 triumph.
