Boxscore
Richard Stockton (15-6, 5-4) struggled to its lowest point total of the season and fell to Rutgers-Newark (15-6, 5-4) 64-53 in an NJAC road game. Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) scored a team-high 14 points followed by Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) with 13 points and Omar Smith (Newark/Central) with 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Stockton shot just 35.2 percent from the floor, including an icy 2-15 (13.3%) from three-point range.

Stockton led for just nine seconds during the entire game. The Ospreys fell behind 6-0 in the opening minutes before Massaquoi finally got them on the board with a layup 3:33 into the game. After trailing 18-8, Stockton roared back with a 12-1 run and briefly led 20-19 after Lancioni hit two free throws. The Ospreys then went cold again, scoring just four points in the last six minutes of the half and trailing 32-24 at intermission. Massaquoi kept Stockton close with 10 points but the team shot just 31.8 percent from the field.

The Ospreys were within 34-28 after a layup by DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden Co. Tech) early in the second half, but the offensive woes continued as they went scoreless for the next 5:33. Consecutive layups by Lancioni trimmed the deficit to seven before another drought of nearly three minutes sealed Stockton’s fate. The Ospreys were unable to get any closer than nine points in the last nine minutes of the 64-53 defeat.
