jumper with 30 seconds left proved to be the game winner as Richard Stockton (10-9, 5-4 NJAC) downed Rutgers-Newark (7-13, 2-7 NJAC) 47-45. Freshman Che`Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) led the Ospreys with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds plus four steals and three assists. Oliver also had 13 rebounds as the Ospreys out-rebounded Rutgers-Newark 55-33. Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) chipped in with eight points.

Stockton led by eight in the second half before Rutgers-Newark pulled within 33-32. Price-Perry then scored five straight points to begin a 7-0 spurt that gave the Ospreys a 40-32 advantage. Rutgers-Newark rallied again and took a 45-44 lead with 51 seconds to play. On Stockton’s next possession, Oliver reeled in an offensive rebound and scored the go-ahead basket to put the Ospreys on top 46-45. After a Rutgers-Newark miss, Oliver sank an insurance free throw with 1.4 seconds left to seal the 47-45 win.

Earlier, Stockton scored the first 10 points of the game on two three-pointers by Nelson and two layups by Thompson for a 10-0 lead. Rutgers-Newark fought back to within three points before Stockton ended the half with a 29-22 lead. Thompson led all players with 10 first-half points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Oliver snagged a game-high nine boards to help Stockton to a 29-15 edge on the glass.
