FARROW & BARDEN EARN NJAC WEEKLY AWARDS

Michael Farrow
Victoria Barden

Richard Stockton junior guard Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/ Middle Twp.) was named the NJAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and sophomore high jumper Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central) was chosen the NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Farrow and Barden each earned NJAC weekly awards for the first time this season.

Farrow scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Stockton’s NCAA Tournament first-round game against 11th-ranked Virginia Wesleyan. He shot 11-21 from the field and 8-14 at the free throw line. Farrow, a 2010 NJAC Honorable Mention selection, finished sixth in the NJAC in field goal percentage (.534) and seventh in steals (1.89 spg). He averaged 12.6 points per game and brought his career total to 984 points in three seasons.

Barden tied for fourth place out of 22 competitors in the high jump at the ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. Due to tiebreakers, the sophomore finished at the top of a group of 13 entrants who topped out at a height 1.58 meters. Barden equaled her best jump of the season and collected her second career NJAC weekly honor. She previously was named NJAC Rookie of the Week once during her freshman year in 2008.
