CRESCENZI & MITCHELL COLLECT NJAC WEEKLY HONORS |
||||
Richard Stockton sophomore Mark Crescenzi (Pedricktown/ Pennsgrove) was named the NJAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week and junior Mahogany Mitchell (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) was chosen the NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Both student-athletes earned NJAC weekly honors for the first time after standout performances over the weekend. Crescenzi went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three appearances last week. The Salem County College transfer struck out the only batter that he faced, with the bases loaded, against Penn State Abington on Saturday. Yesterday, Crescenzi tossed a scoreless third of an inning in the opener against Haverford and then earned his second win of the year by allowing just one unearned run in 3.1 innings of relief pitching. He is 2-1 with a 1.98 ERA in 13.2 innings pitched this season. Mitchell won the hammer throw over 19 competitors at Widener University’s Danny Curran Invitational with a toss of 43.48 meters. She also finished second out of 29 entrants in the discus at 32.23 meters. During the indoor season, Mitchell was named Co-Outstanding Female Field Athlete at the NJAC Championships on February 22 after winning the weight throw with a heave of 15.15 meters that broke the school and meet records in the event. |
