SHEPHERD & SHANER RECEIVE FOURTH NJAC WEEKLY AWARDS |

Richard Stockton senior Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/ Oakcrest) and freshman Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) earned the NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and NJAC Women’s Track & Field Rookie of the Week respectively for the fourth time this season for each student-athlete. Shepherd traveled to Berea, Ohio to compete in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, where she finished third in a field of 20 in the high jump with a jump of 1.70 meters. Shepherd earned All-America status with her finish, which gave her a sixth All-American honor in her career (four outdoor, two indoor). She became the first female Osprey in history with that many All-American honors, breaking Kim Marino’s record of five. Shepherd helped the Ospreys to a 23rd-place finish in the field of 77 teams. Shaner also competed in Berea and earned All-America honors with her fifth-place finish in a field of 18 in the javelin throw. Her best throw of 44.01 meters helped the Ospreys finish 23rd out of 77 teams in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event was hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College. |
