Akhtar Wins NJAC Championship; Stockton Teams Third

Richard Stockton senior Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) won the NJAC men’s cross country championship with a time of 25:37.34. With the win, Akhtar became Stockton’s first-ever NJAC individual champion and earned NJAC Men’s Runner of the Year and NJAC First Team honors. Akhtar won his fifth race of the season and 12th of his career.

Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) collected NJAC First Team honors in women’s cross country by finishing fifth with a time of 22:36.92 for the Ospreys. Also in the women’s 6K race, Katherine Rudy (Bound Brook/Bound Brook) placed 15th (23:52.08) and freshman Morgan Sinclair (Chadds Ford, PA/ Unionville) was 24th (24:41.51).

Matt Ardelean (Margate/Atlantic City) finished 16th (26:44.02) and Dillon Glasser (Mays Landing/ACIT) was 26th (27:04.70) in the men’s 8K race. The Stockton teams each finished third in the NJAC Championships on their home course.
