SIX OSPREYS NAMED NJAC ALL-CONFERENCE

Richard Stockton had six men’s soccer players honored as NJAC all-conference selections, led by senior forward Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) who earned NJAC First Team honors for the third consecutive year. Senior midfielder Sean Nelson (Toms River/ Toms River South) joined Duarte on the NJAC First Team for the second straight season. In his first season for the Ospreys, Kyle Evans (Seaville/Ocean City) was chosen to the NJAC Second Team. Freshman goalie Tim Brett (Palmyra/Palmyra) was named NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year for his outstanding play in net. Senior back Travis Albert (Voorhees/Eastern) and freshman back Tom Parkinson (Old Bridge/Old Bridge) joined Brett as NJAC Honorable Mention selections. Duarte, second all-time in goals at Stockton, leads the team with 14 goals this season and ranks second in the NJAC in goals, points (32) and game-winning goals (6). Duarte previously was named NJAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 and NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2007. He also was a 2007 NJAC Second Team selection as well. Nelson was honored for his steady play once again in the midfield and has 10 career goals and 19 assists for 39 points to his credit in four years at Stockton. Evans ranks second in the conference in assists (11) and third in points (29) and has tallied nine goals, including five game-winning scores. Brett had a 12-game unbeaten streak this season and ranks second in the NJAC in goals against average (0.72) and save percentage (.889). His 90 saves rank third in the league, and he has three shutouts. Brett became Stockton’s fourth NJAC Rookie of the Year in the last five seasons. Albert and Parkinson have played solid defense on the back line for Stockton, which has a 0.82 goals against average. Parkinson also has two goals and one assist in his first season at Stockton.
