Boxscore The Ospreys’ defense and their play on the glass were the keys to the victory. Stockton held Neumann to 39 percent shooting and out-rebounded the Knights 42-30, including 14 offensive boards. Massaquoi led all rebounders with nine and Usuwa collected a career-high eight boards. The Ospreys never trailed in the game and led by as much as 18 in the second half. Kelly capped a 10-0 run with his third three-pointer of the first half to give Stockton a 24-9 lead. The Ospreys still led by 14 with 2:31 on the first-half clock, but they let some of the margin slip as Neumann scored final nine points to get within 30-25. Massaquoi (10) and Kelly (9) combined for 19 of Stockton’s 30 first-half points. Kelly hit two more three-pointers in the first five minutes of the second half as Stockton built its lead back to 10 at 39-29. The Ospreys broke out to a 16-point cushion, 49-33, but Neumann answered with a nine-point run to cut the gap to seven with 9:07 to play. Kelly responded with a layup and three-pointer for a 54-42 advantage and Stockton led by double digits for the rest of game on the way to the 70-57 win. |
