Richard Stockton (2-0) dominated Lehman (1-2) 77-55 in the first round of the Scotty Wood Tournament at Muhlenberg College. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) led the Ospreys with 18 points, followed by freshman Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) with 15 points and 13 rebounds for her second double-double in her first two college games.

Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) tossed in 12 markers for Stockton. The Ospreys dominated the glass with a 50-36 rebound advantage led by Alwan with 13 boards and Noelle Hogan (Mullica Hill/Clearview) with a career-high 12 rebounds. Stockton also scored 50 of its 77 points in the paint.

Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) netted the last four points of an 8-0 run that gave Stockton a 21-11 lead midway through the first half. The Ospreys’ edge reached 12 points at 29-17 on two free throws by Oliver before Lehman rallied to within 31-25 at the break. Fagan led the balanced Stockton offense with eight first-half points.

Stockton took control of the game by shooting 62.1 percent from the floor in the second half. Alwan capped a 9-0 spurt with a three-point play to put the Ospreys on top 50-38 with 11:08 remaining. After Lehman closed the gap to seven, Oliver sank consecutive hoops to spark another 8-0 run that resulted in a 62-47 lead on the way to a 77-55 Stockton victory.
