Richard Stockton (2-1) dropped its first game of the season, falling to host Muhlenberg (3-0) 71-67 in the championship game of the Scotty Wood Tournament. Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) led the Ospreys with seven three-pointers and a career high 24 pointsin the defeat. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) and Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Price-Perry sank her first trey 21 seconds after the opening tip to give Stockton its only lead of the game at 3-2. Muhlenberg controlled the later stages of the half and opened up a 14-point lead twice in the last six minutes before the Ospreys closed the gap to 11 at the break. Stockton’s deficit might have been smaller if the Ospreys had been able to convert at the free throw line, where they went just 5-18 (27.8%).

Stockton staged a second-half rally that cut its deficit from 13 points down to just three after Price-Perry hit a three-pointer to get the Ospreys within 47-44 with 13:15 on the clock. Noelle Hogan (Mullica Hill/Clearview) later sank two free throws with just over three minutes remaining to cut Muhlenberg’s lead to three at 64-61, but Stockton could get no closer and fell 71-67

Price-Perry and Oliver led the second half charge, scoring 13 and 10 points respectively in the stanza. After the game, Price-Perry and Thompson were named to the All-Tournament Team for their outstanding play during the two-day affair.
