Widener 77, Stockton 72 (OT)

Richard Stockton (2-2) lost for the second time this season as they dropped an overtime game to Widener (2-2) 77-72. Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Heights) scored a career-high 31 points and also added eight rebounds, five assists and five steals in the defeat.

Nnamdi Usuwa (Colonia/Colonia) and Matt Haddix (Sicklerville/Vineland) contributed 10 points apiece. Haddix also registered team highs of nine rebounds and four blocks.

The Ospreys led 29-26 at the half of the contest that saw 16 lead changes and 10 ties. Usuwa scored all 10 of his points before the break on perfect shooting (4-4 FG/2-2 FT). In a tight second half, Widener opened up a 59-53 lead with 3:25 remaining before Stockton made its comeback. Massaquoi led the rally by scoring the next seven points for the Ospreys as they pulled within 61-60 with 14 seconds on the clock.

After two Widener free throws, DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden County Tech) hit a three-pointer with just five seconds remaining to send the game to the extra frame. Widener then took control, opening the overtime with an 8-1 spurt for a before Stockton cut into its deficit. Justin Wilson (Willingboro/BCIT) hit a shot from behind the arc to cut the margin to 73-72 with 19 seconds left but four Widener free throws sealed the 77-72 defeat for the Ospreys.
