Nnamdi Usuwa (Colonia/Colonia) led Richard Stockton (4-3, 2-1 NJAC) with 16 points and 11 rebounds, his third double-double of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the Ospreys dropped a 68-64 NJAC contest to #25 Ramapo (8-1, 2-0).

Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Heights) chipped in with 13 points while freshman guard Kevin Johnson (Paulsboro/ Paulsboro) added a career-high 11 points.

The lead changed hands seven times in the first 9:30 before Stockton opened up a 22-17 lead with a five-point spurt that ended with a free throw by Massaquoi. Ramapo answered with 10 straight points and the Ospreys did not regain the lead the lead for the rest of the half, trailing 33-29 at the break. Massaquoi paced Stockton with 10 first-half points but the Ospreys shot just 2-11 (18.2%) from three-point range.

Overall, the game was tied eight times with 12 lead changes. Stockton led on three brief occasions in the second half, but each lasted less than a minute. A three-point play by Usuwa put the Ospreys on top 42-41 for 31 seconds. DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden Co. Tech) hit a three-pointer for a 52-51 advantage before Ramapo went back ahead 23 seconds later.

Johnson connected on a jumper with 4:22 to play and Massaquoi followed with a free throw for a 55-53 edge with 3:53 remaining. Ramapo ran off a 6-0 spurt for a four-point lead before Matt Haddix (Sicklerville/Vineland) pulled the Ospreys within two with 2:41 on the clock, however Ramapo scored the next five points and held off Stockton 68-64.
