Boxscore
Richard Stockton (7-3) had a two-game winning streak snapped as Gwynedd- Mercy (6-1) stopped the Ospreys 67-60. Stockton had won five of its past six contests before losing to the Griffins. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) led Stockton with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) tallied 13 points and Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) chipped in with 11 points in support of Oliver’s effort.

Gwynedd-Mercy jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first five minutes before Stockton settled in. Oliver later scored the first and last points of a 7-0 spurt that put the Ospreys ahead 25-18. The lead grew to eight on a jumper by Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) in the final minute before a Gwynedd-Mercy three-pointer made the score 31-26 at the break. Fagan led the Ospreys with seven first-half points.

Although Gwynedd-Mercy ran off seven consecutive points early in the second half to forge a tie, Stockton held a slim lead for most of the period. A basket by Fagan put the Ospreys up 59-55 with 4:49 to play, but they scored just one point, a late free throw by White, the rest of the way. The Griffins hoisted 30 shots from behind the arc for the game, including a blistering 7-11 (63.6%) in the second half to snatch the win away from Stockton 67-60.
