Richard Stockton (11-5, 5-1 NJAC) came back from their first NJAC loss of the season with a 54-49 victory over a scrappy Rutgers-Newark squad (13-5, 4-4 NJAC). LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) led Stockton once again with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for her third consecutive double-double.

Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) and Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT /New Britain) chipped in with 10 points apiece. The Ospreys have won four of their last five contests.

Stockton overcame 13 turnovers in the first half to build a 33-21 halftime advantage. Alwan scored all 10 of her points to help Stockton forge the margin, including eight in the first 9:32 as the Ospreys went ahead 18-5. Rutgers-Newark later pulled within five, but Stockton boosted the lead back to 12 with a 9-2 spurt that featured two straight baskets by Fagan.

The second half was a different story as Rutgers-Newark came from behind to make it a close game. The Scarlet Raiders went on a 14-1 run to take a one-point lead and the game turned into a tense affair after that. The lead changed hands five times before Stockton went ahead for good at 44-43 on a basket by Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) with 5:01 to play. The Ospreys went 6-7 at the line in the last 3:20 to clinch the 54-49 win.
