Richard Stockton (10-6, 4-2 NJAC) held high-scoring Rutgers-Newark (14-5, 4-4 NJAC) to just 16 points in the first half en route to a 67-48 victory. The Scarlet Raiders came into the contest averaging 81 points per game and it was Stockton’s second straight win.

Pat Kelly (Cape May Court House/Wildwood Catholic) led the Ospreys with 16 points, including a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe. DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden County Tech) added 11 points while teammate Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Heights) chipped in with 10 points and tied a career high with a game-best 11 rebounds.

The Ospreys took advantage of the cold Scarlet Raiders’ shooting in the first half to take a 28-16 lead at the break. Rutgers-Newark, who shot just 5-27 (18.5%), led 15-12 after a three-pointer with 9:57 remaining but only scored one more point the rest of the period. Nnamdi Usuwa (Colonia/Colonia) scored five of his eight first-half points during the decisive 16-1 run before intermission.

Stockton led by double digits for the entire second stanza. The margin peaked at 23 points when Usuwa hit two free throws for the last of his 14 points to put the Ospreys ahead 64-41 with 2:28 to play. Stockton coasted to the 67-48 win as Rutgers-Newark produced its lowest point total since the 2007-08 season.
