Boxscore LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) scored a team-high 16 points while Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) and Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) chipped in with 10 points each. Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds as Stockton held a 51-38 advantage on the glass. Fagan scored the first four points of the game and Stockton never trailed in the contest. The Ospreys led comfortably at the half, 34-23, behind Fagan who scored all nine of her points and Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) who totaled all eight of her tallies before the break. The Stockton bench also contributed 13 first-half points, led by Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) and Noelle Hogan (Mullica Hill/Clearview) with four apiece. Oliver exploded for 14 of her 16 points in the second half, but Brooklyn was able to fight back and close within one point by pressing the Ospreys into 17 turnovers that led to 14 points in the period. The Bulldogs pulled within 48-47 with 8:19 remaining but went scoreless for nearly five minutes while Oliver sank a layup and Thompson followed with four straight points. The spurt boosted the lead to seven and Stockton later went 12-14 at the line in the last 1:49 to clinch the 68-60 win. |
