Richard Stockton (14-8, 6-4 NJAC) had its three-game winning streak halted with a 75-64 defeat to Kean (16-7, 8-3) that dropped the Ospreys one game back of the Cougars for first place in the NJAC South Division.

DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/Camden Co. Tech) led Stockton with a career-high 24 points. Pat Kelly (Cape May CH/ Wildwood Catholic) tossed in 15 points while Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) contributed 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Kean broke out to a 14-5 lead in the first eight minutes as the Stockton offense struggled to get going. The Ospreys rallied into a 20-20 tie as Brown and Kelly netted six points apiece during a 15-6 run. Kean again jumped ahead by nine before Stockton pulled within 39-36 at the break. Brown carried the Ospreys with 17 points and Kelly sank three three-pointers for nine points before intermission.

The game tightened in the second half, with six ties and six lead changes. Stockton scored the first six points of the period to grab a 43-39 lead after a tip-in by Massaquoi capped the 7-0 spurt. The next six minutes featured back-and-forth action before Kean took the lead for good with a 9-0 run that ended with the Cougars ahead 60-52.

Massaquoi scored the next five points and Brown followed with a layup to close the gap to one at 60-59 with 6:44 remaining, but Kean took control from there. Stockton went scoreless for the next 2:21 and the Cougars outscored the Ospreys 15-5 the rest of the way to deal Stockton the 75-64 defeat.
