Richard Stockton (16-7, 8-3 NJAC) used balanced scoring, held College of New Jersey (13-10, 6-6 NJAC) to just 20-71 (28.2%) from the field and picked up a 66-60 road victory. Four Ospreys scored in double figures and accounted for all but eight of Stockton’s 66 points, led by Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) who scored a team-high 19 points.

Freshman Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek), who was held scoreless during the first half, came alive in the second stanza as she scored all 14 of her points to go with 10 rebounds for a double-double.

LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) notched another double-double as she garnered 12 points and also pulled down 10 boards. Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) chipped in with 13 points for the Ospreys.

In the first half, Stockton erased a four-point deficit by reeling off nine straight points for a 23-18 lead, and the Ospreys never trailed again. TCNJ rallied into a 23-23 tie before Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) drained a three-pointer for a 26-23 advantage at the break. The Lions pulled within 36-35 in the second half, but Oliver scored the next four points to keep Stockton in the lead.

After TCNJ closed the gap to four with 6:33 to play, Stockton responded with a 7-1 run that ended with three consecutive points by Fagan for a 58-48 lead with 1:39 remaining. Thompson and Alwan then scored the last seven points for Stockton, who stretched the lead to as many as 11 points before winning 66-60.
