Richard Stockton (1-1) opened the 2011 season with a split of two games in Myrtle Beach. The Ospreys defeated St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 13-3 but then fell to Oswego State (NY) 7-5.

Against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, Mike Wasco (Riverside/ Riverside) slugged a grand slam and an RBI triple for five RBI. Freshman Mike Bush (Manahawkin/Southern) registered two hits, including a double, and three RBI in his first game.

Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) went 3-5 with a double and starting pitcher Bryan Frank (Toms River/TR East) allowed one run on one hit with seven strikeouts in five innings pitched for the win. The Ospreys broke open a 6-3 game with seven runs in the last two innings to clinch the 13-3 win.

Stockton dropped the nightcap to Oswego State 7-5 to even its record at 1-1 on opening day. Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) went 2-4 with a triple and an RBI while Shawn Kessler (Bayville/Central Regional) was 2-2 with three RBI. Jason Gordon (Brick Twp./Brick Memorial) and Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) also registered two hits apiece for the Ospreys.
