Game 1 / Game 2 In the first game, starting pitcher Drew Holt (Toms River/TR South) allowed two hits with seven strikeouts in eight scoreless innings for the win. John Lightbody (Toms River/TR East) closed the 3-0 shutout for a save. Stockton broke open a scoreless tie with three runs in the seventh inning. Shawn Kessler (Bayville/Central Regional) provided the key blow with a two-run single that propelled the Ospreys to victory. Stockton managed just four hits, all singles, but prevailed on the strength of hurlers Holt and Lightbody. Freshman lefty Adam Warburton (Sewell/Washington Twp.) earned the win against St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn in his first college start, allowing just one run on three hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings pitched. The Ospreys snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the sixth inning and added three more in the seventh for the 8-2 win. Stockton’s balanced offense produced 10 hits, including five doubles by five different players. |
