Game 1 / Game 2
Richard Stockton (7-1) continued their early season surge and increased their winning streak to six games by sweeping a doubleheader over Arcadia (0-3) 8-6 and 5-0. The Ospreys got stellar pitching from Bryan Frank (Toms River/TR East) and Adam Warburton (Sewell/Washington Twp.) in the victories.

In the first game, freshman Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) was the hitting star for Stockton, as he went 2-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Stockton rushed out to a 7-0 lead in the first four innings before Arcadia mounted a comeback, but the Osprey hurlers were able to shut down the uprising. The Ospreys managed just five hits and capitalized on seven errors by Arcadia.

Frank threw the first five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in picking up his third win of the young season. John Lightbody (Toms River/TR East) closed out the contest with a scoreless seventh inning to register his fourth save in the first eight games, already surpassing his total from last season.

In the nightcap, Warburton tossed a complete game two-hit shutout for the win. The shutout and complete game were both firsts in the young pitcher’s inaugural season as a collegiate hurler. The freshman lefty walked three and struck out eight. Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) staked the Ospreys to an early lead with a two-run double in the top of the first. Larro finished the game at 1-3 with three RBI, a run and a stolen base.
