Richard Stockton (18-13, 4-9 NJAC) fell to College of New Jersey (22-8, 8-5) 6-2 in the first of back-to-back NJAC games between the two teams.

Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) was the only player with multiple hits for the Ospreys, finishing 2-4 with a double and an RBI.Shawn Kessler (Bayville/Central Regional) and Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) each smacked a double.

Stockton opened the scoring in the top of the second as Kessler doubled and later came home on a sacrifice fly by Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/ Winslow Twp.). College of New Jersey tied the game with a run in the bottom of the second. The Lions pulled away by plating one run in the third inning and two tallies apiece in the fourth and fifth frames for a 6-1 advantage.

The Ospreys got one run back in the eighth inning as pinch-hitter Marc Asta (Jackson/ Jackson Memorial) walked and scored on an RBI double by Marra. McGuckin singled with two outs in the ninth inning but was stranded as the final out was recorded on the next batter to close the 6-2 defeat.
