Game 1 / Game 2
Richard Stockton (9-14, 5-11 NJAC) began a busy final weekend of the regular season by splitting an NJAC doubleheader at New Jersey City (9-28. 4-14). The Ospreys took the opener 4-1 but yielded a couple of late runs in a 3-2 defeat to the Gothic Knights in the second game.

The first game remained scoreless until Jason Gordon (Brick Twp./Brick Memorial) stroked an RBI single in the fifth inning. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) singled and scored an unearned run in the seventh frame.

Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) provided some breathing room with a two-run double in the top of the ninth for a 4-0 lead. NJCU broke the shutout with a run on two hits in the bottom of the ninth.

Winning pitcher Gage Mick (Bridgeton/Cumberland) was masterful for 8.2 innings, yielding just one run on four hits. Asta went 2-5 with a double and two RBI while McGuckin was 2-4 with a run. Mike Bush (Manahawkin/Southern) chipped in with two hits and two runs.

In game two, Gordon snapped a 1-1 tie with an RBI on a bunt single in the fifth inning that scored Bush for a 2-1 edge. New Jersey City pulled ahead 3-2 on a pair of unearned runs in the seventh frame. The Ospreys were retired in order in the eighth inning but had one last chance after McGuckin led off the ninth with a single. A double play and a groundout squelched the opportunity as Stockton fell 3-2.

Gordon went 3-4 with an RBI while Bush was 1-4 with a double and a run scored. Despite the outcome, Brandon Trainor (Manahawkin/Southern) pitched a strong game for the Ospreys, allowing just one earned run (and two unearned) on eight hits while fanning four in a complete game.
