Richard Stockton (19-17, 5-13) concluded a hectic stretch of six games in five days by dropping a pair to Montclair State (18-15, 10-8 NJAC), 6-3 and 8-4 in the regular season finale. The Ospreys were limited to a total of just seven runs and 15 hits in the doubleheader.

In the opener, Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) pulled Stockton into a 1-1 tie with an RBI on a groundout in the bottom of the first. Montclair State broke the deadlock with three runs in the third inning for a 4-1 lead.

Stockton closed the gap to 4-3 with two runs in the sixth frame on RBI singles by Shawn Kessler (Bayville/Central Regional) and Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside). The Red Hawks produced insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings for the 6-3 final score. Stockton managed just one baserunner over the last three innings. Wasco went 2-4 with an RBI while Marra finished 1-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Montclair State started quickly in the nightcap with three runs in the first inning, and the Red Hawks added another run in the third frame for a 4-0 advantage. Stockton came to life with two runs in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles by Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) and Mike Bush (Manahawkin/Southern).

The Ospreys pulled within 4-3 on a sacrifice fly by Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) in the bottom of the fifth, but they could not get any closer. Montclair State broke the game open with four runs in the seventh inning and doubled Stockton 8-4. Bush and Larro each went 1-4 with an RBI while Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) contributed a pinch-hit RBI triple in the eighth inning.
