Sixth-seeded Richard Stockton (21-17) advanced to the ECAC Metro championship game for the second straight year with a 4-1 victory over second-seeded Staten Island (23-19) in the semifinals at Newark Riverfront Stadium. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) led the Ospreys with four hits.

Jason Gordon (Brick Twp./Brick Memorial) went 2-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Winning pitcher Adam Warburton (Sewell/Washington Twp.) tossed a complete game, allowing one run on seven hits with five strikeouts.

Stockton took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside) in the top of the first inning, but Staten Island answered with run in the bottom half. The Ospreys snapped the 1-1 tie and took the lead for good on an RBI single by Gordon in the top of the second.

Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) stroked a two-run single in the sixth frame for a 4-1 advantage. Warburton worked out of trouble in the bottom of the sixth and eighth innings, stranding two runners in each frame to hold off Staten Island for the 4-1 victory.
