||
Richard Stockton (6-5-2, 2-3 NJAC) was looking for a two-game winning streak but was foiled by NJAC rival Montclair State (8-4, 4-2 NJAC) by a 2-1 final on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, Francesca Gibson opened the scoring at the 51:24 mark to give the Red Hawks a 1-0 lead with her team-leading ninth goal of the season. Just 1:33 later, Stockton’s Jess McQuillen (Tabernacle/ Seneca) tied the game 1-1 on a shot from about 35 yards away for her fourth marker of the year. Montclair’s Rachel Senyszyn tallied the eventual game-winner, her fourth goal of the season, at the 65:53 mark and the Red Hawks held on for the 2-1 win. Montclair State goalkeeper Gina Policastro made four saves in picking up her seventh victory of the season. Stockton’s Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) suffered the loss, kicking out six shots in the process. |
