HALL, KOROPCHAK & ENNIS RECEIVE NJAC WEEKLY AWARDS

Richard Stockton swept the conference’s weekly tennis awards as Brittany Hall (Rancocas/Rancocas Valley) was named NJAC Player of the Week and Sam Koropchak (West Milford/West Milford) earned her second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor.

In addition, Joe Ennis (West Windsor/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) was chosen NJAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Hall went undefeated in singles play in three NJAC matches last week, winning 6-0, 6-1 against Rutgers-Camden, 7-6 (7-1), 6-0 versus Rutgers-Newark and 6-0, 6-2 against Kean.

Hall also went 2-1 in doubles, teaming with Krystle Bendijo for an 8-2 win over Rutgers-Camden and joining Koropchak for a 9-8 (7-4) triumph against Kean. For the season, Hall is 6-4 in singles play and 5-3 in doubles matches.

Koropchak extended her singles winning streak to four with three straight victories. The freshman won 6-2, 6-0 against Rutgers-Camden, 6-1, 6-1 versus Rutgers-Newark and 6-0, 6-1 over Kean.

Along with the aforementioned 9-8 (7-4) doubles victory with Hall, Koropchak also teamed with Slone Portner for an 8-2 win against Rutgers-Camden. Koropchak leads the Ospreys with seven singles victories (7-3 record) and stands at 5-3 in doubles contests.

Ennis was Stockton’s top male finisher at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday. The junior finished 72nd out of a whopping 448 runners with a five-mile time of 28:07.29. With the performance, Ennis led the Ospreys to 16th place out of 45 teams at the meet. He has been Stockton’s top finisher in both of the last two races.
