| Men Win Osprey Open, Women Win NJAIAW Championship | ||||
The Stockton men’s cross country team won the Osprey Open with 38 points while the Osprey women’s cross country team won the NJAIAW Championship with 34 points. Both 6k races were held on the Stockton campus. Freshman Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) won his second men’s race of the year with a time of 19:46. Joe Ennis (West Windsor/WW-Plainsboro South) finished second behind Akhtar at 19:57 and Dan DiRocco (Allentown/ Allentown) completed Stockton’s trio of top-six finishers by placing sixth in 21:19.
Michelle Barile (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) led a group of four Stockton runners who placed seventh or higher by finishing second with a time of 24:09. Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) earned fourth place by crossing the line in 24:59.16, less than a second ahead of fifth-place runner Emily Peregrin (South Plainfield/Koinonia Academy) whose time was 24:59.38. Jacqui Wojtaszek (Jackson/Jackson) posted a time of 25:08 for seventh place. |
