STOCKTON TOPS TRINITY 72-58 |

Richard Stockton (4-1) began its two-game stint in the Lone Star State with a 72-58 victory over host Trinity University (1-3) in San Antonio. Four Ospreys reached double figures led by Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) who posted a double-double with a game-high 18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph) tossed in 15 points and Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) added 14 points and a game-high six assists. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) completed the quartet with 12 points and 10 boards for a double-double. Stockton started quickly as Oliver sank two early baskets to spark the Ospreys to a 12-3 lead in the first five minutes. Stockton led 21-12 before going cold and scoring just six points in the last 11:21 of the half while Trinity pulled into a 27-27 tie. Nelson led all players with eight points but the Ospreys shot just 25.7% from the field and 6-12 (50%) at the line. Stockton turned things around in the second half as the Ospreys shot 52.9% and outscored Trinity 45-31 in the final 20 minutes. Alwan and Price-Perry led the way with 12 and 11 points in the period respectively. Stockton took the lead for good on a layup by Price-Perry two minutes into the half and gradually pulled away, leading by as much as 16 points in the 72-58 triumph. |
