Richard Stockton (8-5, 2-0 NJAC) won their fifth consecutive game and seventh in the last eight with a 74-62 victory over NJAC foe The College of New Jersey (6-6, 1-2 NJAC).

The Ospreys dominated the first half en route to the victory, despite shooting just 33% from the field. After TCNJ took and early 7-2 lead, Stockton answered with a 15-3 run that put the Ospreys up by 10 points.

Another 11-2 stretch led by Bill McDonough (Spring Lake/St. Rose), who went off for 22 points and 18 rebounds in the game, helped Stockton increase the lead. The Ospreys led 38-21 at the break after McDonough registered a double-double of 12 points and 13 boards before intermission.

The second half was a different story as the Lions clawed their way back to within three points on a three-pointer by Matthew Rista with 10:10 to play that capped a 20-6 scoring run, but that was as close as they would come. Stockton later sealed the game by shooting 8-9 at the charity stripe to end it. Stockton out-rebounded the Lions 51-33 for the game and finished 29-36 (80.6%) at the line.

In addition to McDonough’s tremendous effort, including his career-high 18 rebounds, Salman Yusuff (Vineland /Vineland) collected 14 points, grabbed 12 boards and blocked four shots while Rich Suhr (Toms River/Toms River East) continued his good play by adding 13 points.

Emmanuel Matlock led TCNJ with 11 points while teammates Kyle Rawson and Donovan Smalls added 10 points apiece for the Lions.
