||
Richard Stockton (9-4, 2-2 NJAC) outscored Rutgers-Camden (10-3, 2-2) 16-0 in overtime and snapped a three-game skid with a 79-63 victory. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) broke the school record for rebounds in a career and finished with game highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Oliver now has 816 career boards, topping the previous mark of 810 by Alicia Morris (2003-07). Kelsey Brown (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) scored a career-high 16 points and tied her career best with eight rebounds. Brittany Muniz (Cherry Hill/CH East) also contributed 16 points and eight boards, plus five assists. Aspen Price-Perry (Lindenwold/Lindenwold) tossed in 15 points for the Ospreys. Muniz sank one of two free throws with 51 seconds remaining to give Stockton a 63-61 edge but Lillian Chukwueze quickly tied the game with a layup six seconds later. After a Stockton turnover, Rutgers-Camden had the final possession of regulation but Kristina Cox’s jumper in the closing seconds was off the mark and the game went to overtime. Brown scored the first bucket of OT to ignite a 16-0 run as Rutgers-Camden went 0-10 from the field in the extra session. Price-Perry paced Stockton with six points in overtime as the Ospreys pulled away for the 79-63 victory. After leading by six early, Stockton settled for a 32-30 edge at halftime behind 11 points by Oliver. The Ospreys also held six-point advantages twice in the second half and later led 58-53 after a layup by Brown with 5:49 to play. The score was tied three times in the final 4:19 of the second half, the last of which was the 63-63 deadlock at the end of regulation. |
