BROWN HITS 1,000-POINT MARK IN 96-60 ROUT

Richard Stockton senior DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/ Camden Co. Tech) tied for game-high scoring honors with 19 points and reached the 1,000-point mark for his career as the Ospreys (9-6, 3-1 NJAC) pounded Rutgers-Camden (2-11, 0-4) 96-60.

Brown, who played his freshman year at Eastern Nazarene (MA) before transferring to Stockton, entered the game with 986 points and hit 1,000 with a layup four minutes into the second half. Darnell McCargo (Woodlynne/Collingswood) scored a career-high 19 points and Rich Suhr (Toms River/ TR East) chipped in with 18 points for the Ospreys.

Bill McDonough (Spring Lake/St. Rose) finished with 12 points and a game-high six rebounds while freshman Joshua Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) came off the bench and scored a career-high 11 points in 11 minutes played. The Ospreys went a torrid 13-23 (56.5%) from three-point range in the game.

After falling behind 4-0, Stockton took control with a 22-6 run paced by McCargo and Suhr with seven points apiece. The Ospreys later scored the last nine points of the half to turn a nine-point lead into a commanding 43-25 advantage at the break. Brown and Suhr led the way with 12 first-half points apiece and Stockton shot 56.5% from the field.

The Ospreys were even better in the second half as they shot 60% from the field including a scorching 8-11 (72.7%) from beyond the arc. Suhr hit two treys and McCargo also scored six points during a 19-8 outburst that extended the lead to 29 at 64-35 with 13:36 to play. The Ospreys cruised from there as the reserves took over, led by Blamon who was 3-3 from three-point range in the 96-60 rout.
