Richard Stockton (10-4, 3-2 NJAC) won their second straight NJAC game with a convincing 97-56 victory over New Jersey City. The Ospreys set a season high in points with four players reaching double figures in head coach Joe Fussner’s 299th career win in 20 seasons at Stockton. Freshman Jill Henderson (Manahawkin/Southern) led the way in the first half with 13 of her game- and career-high 15 points as Stockton rolled out to a 50-21 halftime advantage. Henderson also notched eight rebounds and five assists before the break. In the second half, the Ospreys continued to stretch the lead, shooting 52.8% during the period, and they never were threatened. Although New Jersey City picked up its scoring pace in the second half, Stockton’s lead never dipped below 31 points in the 97-56 win. Ten of the 11 Ospreys who saw action registered points in the victory. Tying Henderson for game-high scoring honors was Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) who also tallied 15 points. Sarah Gibbs (Ocean View/Ocean City) added 11 points and five assists while LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) chipped in with 10 counters. Henderson also tied a career high with game-high eight rebounds and set another personal standard for assists with six. Jade Medley led the Gothic Knights with 11 points and teammate Gabrielle Rivera added 10 markers plus five assists. |
