STOCKTON DOWNED BY RAMAPO 74-59 |

Richard Stockton (12-5, 4-3 NJAC) struggled from start to finish, committing 31 turnovers as Ramapo (11-6, 3-4) downed the Ospreys 74-59. With the victory, the Roadrunners halted a three-game losing skid and snapped Stockton’s four-game winning streak. Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) paced Stockton with 13 points and eight rebounds. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/ Overbrook) contributed 11 points, seven boards and a game-high four blocks for the Ospreys. Jackie Jerkovich led Ramapo with a game-high 17 points plus four assists and four steals. Alexa Ryan contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. The Roadrunners went 30-39 (76.9%) at the free throw line, led by Jerkovich who was a perfect 8-8 at the stripe. Jerkovich scored five early points as Ramapo jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Stockton roared back with nine points of its own for a 9-9 tie. Stockton later led 27-22 after two free throws by Alwan, but the Roadrunners closed the half on a 10-4 run to take a 32-31 edge at the break. Jerkovich topped everyone with 11 first half points while the Ospreys managed to stay close despite 17 turnovers by shooting 50% from the floor. The lead went back and forth early in the second half before Ramapo took control with a 17-1 spurt as Stockton scored only on a free throw by Che’Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) during a nine-minute span. Ramapo’s Kerri Kosakowski scored all five of her points during the onslaught. The Roadrunners led 56-43 with 9:07 to play and stayed in front by at least eight points the rest of the way to post the 74-59 win. |
