Boxscore

Richard Stockton’s (12-7, 4-4 NJAC) shooting woes continued as they dropped their third consecutive game, 72-53 to NJAC foe #21 Kean (17-3, 8-0). Stockton shot just 24% for the contest. For the Cougars, it was their 12th win in their last 13 games as they remained undefeated in NJAC play.

Che`Na Thompson (Salem/Salem) was the bright spot for Stockton as she scored 13 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds. Thompson was the only Osprey to reach double figures.

Lauren Alwan (Winslow/Timber Creek) and Brittany Muniz (Cherry Hill/CH East) contributed eight points apiece for the Ospreys.

With the game tied at nine points apiece in the first half, Kean ran out to a 10-point advantage courtesy of a 13-3 run. The Cougars never trailed from there, leading 36-23 at the break. Kean used balanced scoring in taking the early lead with seven players scored in the half. Thompson paced Stockton with six markers.

The Ospreys fought back briefly at the beginning of the second stanza as they ran off nine straight points, including two buckets by Alwan, to cut the lead to four at 36-32. That was as close as Stockton would come as Kean answered with a 20-5 stretch that put the game away, and the Cougars coasted to the 72-53 win.

Naimah Clemons led all scorers with 16 points for the Cougars. Danielle McFadden added 14 points and a team-high 16 rebounds. Brittanie Payne and Erika Jones chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively. Payne dished out eight assists as well.
