ISOLA, BOLOGNO & VESELKA EARN ALL-CONFERENCE NODS

Eugene Isola
Nick Bologno
Wade Veselka

Three Richard Stockton lacrosse players earned all-conference honors from the Skyline Conference. Freshman faceoff specialist Eugene Isola (Monroe Twp./Christian Brothers Academy) led the trio with selection to the Skyline First Team.

Freshman attack Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) and senior midfielder Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) were selected to the Skyline Second Team.

Isola leads the conference in faceoff percentage (.686) and ground balls per game (11.36). The rookie also was ranked nationally in both categories as of April 24, standing fifth among all NCAA Division III players in ground balls and sixth in faceoff percentage.

Isola won 245 of 354 faceoffs, scooped a team-high 175 ground balls and tallied two goals and two assists for four points.

Bologno leads the Skyline Conference in points per game (2.58) and ranks second in the league in assists per game (2.00) and third in goals per game (2.58).

Despite missing Stockton’s last four matches due to illness, the freshman still led the Ospreys in all three offensive categories with 31 goals and 24 assists for 55 points. Bologno was named Skyline Rookie of the Week twice and Co-Player of the Week once during the season.

Veselka came on strong during his senior year to pick up his first Skyline all-conference selection. The midfielder finished second on the Ospreys with 15 assists, tied for second on the team with 39 points and also scored 24 goals.

Veselka’s statistics for this season exceeded his career totals from his first three years at Stockton combined, and he stands tied for 10th in the Skyline in points per game (2.44).

Stockton finished fourth in the Skyline Conference with a 3-3 record in league play. The Ospreys earned the #4 seed for the Skyline tournament but were eliminated by eventual champion Montclair State in the semifinals and finished with a 7-9 overall record.
