The Stockton cross country teams concluded the 2007 season with the NCAA Atlantic Regionals at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City. The Osprey women’s team tied for 16th out of 37 teams with 488 points while the men’s team finished 25th out of 39 squads with 785 points. Emily Peregrin (South Plainfield/Koinonia Academy) finished 66th with a time of 24:10 in the women’s race. Joe Ennis (West Windsor/WW-Plainsboro South) placed 72nd at 26:30 in men’s competition. Peregrin and Ennis were Stockton’s top finishers for the first time.
Also in the women’s 6k race, Michelle Barile (Oak Ridge/ Jefferson Twp.) placed 76th at 24:23 and Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) was 93rd, crossing the finish line in 24:45. For the Stockton men’s team, Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) posted a time of 26:43 for 87th place and Dan DiRocco (Allentown/Allentown) finished 179th with a time of 28:54 for eight kilometers. The meet included 255 female runners and 271 male competitors. |
