Stockton Women Second, Men Ninth in Thomson Invitational

Men's Results / Women's Results
The Stockton women’s indoor track & field team finished second with 94 points and the Osprey men’s team placed ninth with 18 points in the Division II/III bracket of the Thomson Invitational at the University of Delaware.  Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) led Ospreys with a win in the 3000-meter run (10:37.51) and a second-place finish in the mile run (5:29.08).
 
The Stockton women’s team also won three additional events.  Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) captured the weight throw (13.77m) and Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) won the high jump (1.65m).  On the track, Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) crossed the line first in the 60-meter hurdles (9.54 seconds).  Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central) finished second in the long jump (4.70m) and pole vault (2.75m) for the Ospreys.
 
Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) was the lone event winner for the Stockton men’s team with his victory in the pole vault (4.50m).  In the 60-meter hurdles, Jim Osenenko (West Creek/Pinelands) finished fourth (9.12 seconds) and Bryan Walsh (Jamesburg/Monroe Twp.) placed seventh (9.60 seconds).
