The Richard Stockton women’s cross country team finished sixth out of 20 squads and the Stockton men’s cross country team placed ninth out of 18 at the season-opening Delaware Valley Invitational. The Ospreys were led by a top-five runner in each race. Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) finished third in the men’s race (27:54.95) and Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) placed fifth in the women’s race (24:40.72).

Jim Codianni (Medford/Shawnee) narrowly missed a top-ten finish in his debut, placing 11th (28:58.77). Ryan Dean (Hamilton Square/Steinert) finished 47th (31:19.38) for the Stockton men. In the women’s race, Laura Daniels (Cherry Hill/Cherokee) crossed the line in 34th place (26:58.75) while Katelyn Robertson (Mullica Hill/ Kingsway) finished 53rd (28:10.70) for the Ospreys.
